This One Wants to be Saved!!!!!!!!!!

A Muslim lady, whom we had never seen, came with her friend, (E) who was a Muslim but received Christ 2 months ago, to our T4T training this week. Of course we wondered how she was receiving the message of what we were teaching. There was some various discussion at the end and my friend, Margaret, said, "That one down there wants to be saved." I said, "Well, wonderful, let's see when we can get with her and talk more." She said, "She wants to be saved now!" I gulped and said, "Well, okay!!!" So I told Danny what was happening and he took the men out of room and left us 5 ladies together. I was a bit skeptical of her understanding but as we talked she teaches Religious Education in a Muslim school and her friend (E) had been telling her about Jesus this week and she wanted to learn more. She said, "I had many facts about Jesus because I had to teach about other religions in comparison to Islam. But, I have come to understand who He really is this week from my friend (E) and from hearing more tonight. It was a precious experience. Jesus moved from her facts and knowledge to reigning in her heart.

The Book of Acts

I have been involved in 2 ladies' groups and two of my friends kept saying we have some Muslim ladies who are wanting to know more about Jesus but it is too far for them to foot here and transport is too much. Four of the ladies came last week to one study and we made plans to go the next day to their area. They said about 30 women would be there. We arrived the next day and there were 52 people present; even a few men. After a time of sharing and issuing a call to salvation, 32 people responded to pray and out of those were 15 Muslims. Immediately they began to say: we need Bibles, how can we know more without someone to teach us, how and when can we be baptized, I have a question about.....? WOW, immediately they were doing what we wanted and we had not said anything about Bibles or baptism or returning. It was exciting indeed. Danny will go with me tomorrow and we will see what can be developed in their area for a house church. They have the place.....a nice big yard with a tree in it for shade from this Equatorial sun. What a sight to see 50+ sitting on the ground, and on mats on the ground, all spread out to hear the Gospel. Our prayer is that a new church will be born in this area...just like in Acts.

Feeling At Home

It has been interesting that as I make my plans to return to the US, and I hasten to say that we are so excited about returning for a month, I have also come to realize that this is "home." I am so grateful for this feeling because in my first month after landing here I did not believe I would ever feel this way. It has been a very big blessing to live in Uganda and know these precious people. Their lives are lived for the most part in poverty but their great big beautiful smiles, the sweet, sweet welcoming to us and their deep love and respect for God has made us feel "at home." Thank you for your prayers for our ministry here. We would not want to be here without your prayers and love. CH
