Waiting for Election Results

We are awaiting the election returns. Musevini is expected to win. No surprise! He controls the government and has for 25 years. Most of our friends wanted a change for fear that things were moving towards a dictatorship. He changed (or had changed) the constitution to allow for a third term.

Everyone has been surprised that there has been little disruption. Kampala has been very quiet. Things are moving back to normal slowly.

Power has been better with about 7-8 hours without, from about 6:30pm to 10:30pm last night and today we lost power at 1pm and it may come back about 10 or 11 tonight. We are adjusting using 12 volt batteries for the computer and one fan and one light.

Post Election News from Uganda

This was our first try at blogging. Serveral of us are together during the election time. All of our SBC missionaries are safe and sound. We believe that this has been a peaceful time because so many people were praying for peace. Thank you.
